I took this a while ago on The Strand in London. I'd installed myself in a cafe to photograph the passers by in the rain. There should have been a chance of something beautiful. The people with their umbrellas seemed oddly poignant scurrying by. The notion reminds me of a Renoir painting called The Umbrellas. Anyway. I took a few pix. This one by chance shows the people going one way. Others show more of a flurry of figures going in all directions. There's even one with two lovers huddled under an umbrella. But no masterpiece!
