Because President Barack Obama fired the two most brilliant generals in the American military Stanley McChrystal and David Petraeus for frivolous reasons leaving the army in the hands of sensitive politically correct blunderers of the calibre of present Joint Chiefs Of Staff Chairman General Mark "I want to understand white rage" Milley. (General Milley was an appointee of President Donald Trump incidentally.) President Obama claimed to have accepted McChrystal's resignation (ie fired him) for speaking disparagingly (privately to other soldiers on his own time) about that highly impressive figure (then Obama's Vice President currently President) Joe Biden. Petraeus was fired (had his resignation accepted) as head of the CIA for having an affair. You can't throw away your two best combat generals, possibly the two best combat generals of the modern era, for nonsense reasons and still win a world wide Jihad war. That's all. That's why we lost. That's why we're losing.
