poem and parody

No Second Troy
by WB Yeats

Why should I blame her that she filled my days
With misery, or that she would of late
Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways
Or hurled the little streets upon the great
Had they but courage equal to desire
What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this
Being high and solitary and most stern
Why? What could she have done being what she is
Was there another Troy for her to burn?

**********

no second fine gael
by James Healy

why should i blame them that they filled my country
with IRA mafia drug gangs or that they would of late
have taught to ignorant doctors most violent ways
particularly when it comes to murdering unborn children
euthanising the elderly and assisting to suicide anyone else who gets in their way
while debauching the peasantry through the internet
or hurled the little rackateer controlled  trade unions on the great
as cops nursies and teachers once more demand and get ridiculous payrises
had they but principles equal to their desire for cash
what could have made them peaceful being accountable in a representative democracy
when instead they chose to accept billion dollar bribes from people traffickers
and accord every jihadi in arabia the right to move here
with islam like a pyschotic nazism a kind
that finds ready adherents in an age like this
and will not brook the existence of other people or ideas or traditions
being high and solitary and evil and twisted and dessicated and unutterably vile
why what could they have done whom the mafia men extort
was there another ireland for them to abort
