how many putins does it take to screw ireland into a sinn fein government

Coffee with the millionairess.
"I think it's a disgrace when people don't vote," quoth she.
"About forty percent of the Irish didn't vote," quoth me, "are they all a disgrace?"
"Yes," sex she.
"So there's no legitimate reason not to vote?" sez me.
"None," insisteth she.
"If the figure of people not voting rises to fifty one percent at the next election," sez me, "would you be inclined to recognise the majority of the electorate's democratically taken decision not to vote as itself a form of voting? They would then be the majority after all. And votes are supposed to be determined by majorities. What if the majority of us think the vote is rigged? Have any of us the right to turn our back on a jerrymandered electoral system? Is it not a legitimate critique of the political class, all of em, to withhold your vote? Are we not free to do with our vote what we wish?"
"Enough people fought long and hard, and enough people died to get us the vote. Everyone has a duty to vote. It's a disgrace when they don't." sez she.
"There's a disgrace there alright," I counter pleasantly, "but the disgrace is wholly with the IRA mafia, the abortionists and the jerrymanderers inside and outside parliament who have between them discredited democracy enough so that already forty percent of us refuse to vote for any of them."
"The disgrace belongs to those who stand on the sidelines and do nothing by not voting," she raps back.
"In the Iranian elections last week," I muse, "maybe eighty percent of the people didn't vote. Were they a disgrace too?"
She says: "I don't know anything about Iran. I'm just talking about Ireland."
"Iran is more or less the same as here," I explain coolly. "Corrupt political overclass using permanently contrived enmity with Britain, America and Israel as a way to distract the citizenry from the fact that they live in a miserable, anti life, hell hole dictatorship. The wheel is rigged and it's the only game in town."
