the IRA's invisibility cloak
Today the Irish Times and a regional newspaper styled the Leinster Leader have finally mentioned the recent suicide cluster in the town of Newbridge near where I live.
In their reports, both newspapers engage in standard operational hand wringing while advocatng weepily for the establishment of government funded phone helplines to address mental health issues in the broader community.
Oh the humanity.
Phone help lines.
It beats fighting crime doesn't it.
For all their pious hand wringing and faux compassion, neither newspaper could quite bring itself to mention the connection of IRA mentored drug gangs in the deaths of those people.
